In my twenties, I was finding direction for my life and
developing strong opinions based on what I didn’t want or like. Everything was
uphill at that point. Post-secondary education, future career uncertainty,
growing out of a childhood faith into a season of doubt, the confusing world of
dating and then getting married.

I graduated from post-secondary and became a youth pastor at
twenty-three and married at twenty-seven. Our first child was born when I was
twenty-nine.

The twenties were all about self-discovery and discovering
what it meant to make commitments and addressing my fears. It was a time of
idealism and facing my cynicism.
