The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that Huawei Technologies Co. has hired veteran Democratic lobbyist Tony Podesta “whose firm imploded in 2017 amid financial and legal troubles—as part of the Chinese company’s expanded U.S. influence operation,” people familiar with the matter told the paper.
If this isn’t just another example of the Washington D.C. swamp I don’t know what is. It also exposes how not only government agencies have been weaponized by political elites but how the tentacles of those Washington sycophants have penetrated foreign adversarial corporations to line their pockets.
I wonder if Hunter Biden will be Podesta’s boss one day?
According to The Wall Street Journal Podesta’s work with “Huawei is still in the early stages, and the full scope of his advocacy for the company is still being determined, according to one of these people.”
It’s a sure fire and brilliant move on the part of Huawei. Podesta has all the connections within the Democratic Party that the Chinese Communist Party needs, as it continues to spy and penetrate the American people and market.
After all, it was the Trump administration that stopped Huawei in its tracks. In fact, in early January the Trump administration notified Huawei suppliers, including chipmaker Intel, that it is revoking certain licenses in early January to sell to the Chinese company. According to Reuters President Trump’s team also intended “to reject dozens of other applications to supply the telecommunications firm,” people familiar with the matter told the news agency.
Podesta seemingly rose from the ashes of his own demise – like the tale of the Phoenix – but in this instant as a lobbyist willing to do his best for an allegedly adversarial Chinese technology company. I guess he feels he has nothing to worry about with Democrats controlling both chambers of Congress and the White House.
Podesta isn’t the only Washington insider hired by Huawei. In fact, according to reports he is one of many Americans the Chinese technology corporation is hiring to lobby on their behalf and according to many analysts against America’s interests.
