Vice President Harris should have been in Detroit Monday, but announced Sunday that she is postponing her trip. Her visit is a part of the Biden administration’s “month of action” leading up to the President’s challenge to see 70% of American vaccinated by July 4th.
Michigan has two counties with the lowest vaccination percentage, according to the Detroit News. The visit was an effort to rally behind vaccines. Detroit also saw flooding over the weekend that likely kept the vice president from coming.
However, Harris has not revealed why the trip was postponed or when she will try to visit again.
