Gun violence kills 6 wounds 52 over the weekend in Chicago

At the time of this report, 52 people have been shot and six of them had been killed this weekend in Chicago. Among those killed is a 7-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy.

Among teenage victims, a 14-year-old girl was shot in the right shoulder and wrist just after 7:00 PM Friday night. She got into an argument while walking down the street and someone shot her. Once at the hospital, she was in good condition.

Then on Saturday afternoon, 15-year-old boy was shot  near Mary E. McDowell Elementary School. While he was sitting in a park, a drive by shooter struck him three times. when someone in a gray Chrysler drove by and shot him. He had gunshot wounds in his right arm, thigh, and hip. But reports say he’s in good condition as well.

Next, a 17-year-old boy was one of three people shot inside an apartment building late Saturday night. Police said he was shot in the shoulder, hand, and leg while in the hallway. He died of his wounds.

Just hours later, three teenage boys were shot at while at a gas station. A 15-year-old boy, 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old boy all recovered from their wounds at local hospitals.

Finally, at 2:50 p.m. Sunday, a gunman shot two girls while they were in a parked vehicle. The seven-year-old girl was shot in the chest and torso. As a result she was pronounced dead at the Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. Her sister, a six-year-old was shot in the chest and right armpit. But her condition was stabilized at the same hospital despite her pierced lung.
