Fox News medical contributor Dr. Marc Siegel reacted Sunday to the World Health Organization recommending masks for even vaccinated people. This latest recommendation comes as cases in COVID-19’s Delta variant rise. WHO has called this variant the “most transmissible” so far.
“I’m really worried about it,” Siegel told co-host Pete Hegseth on Fox and Friends “I don’t like that they’re doing it in Israel right now with only 200 cases a day and less. They had 10,000 back in January. And Israel has 60% of the population fully vaccinated, plus the natural immunity. I can’t believe Israel is doing it for such small numbers.”
In his medical opinion, it’s a strategy that shouldn’t be applied in the United States. “I don’t think we should do it,” Siegel said. “I’m very fearful because the left gave the CDC a lot of criticism when they changed the mandates. And if they try to roll it back, it will have an enormous backlash from us. I’m against it. Leave things the way they are.”
