Dem lawmaker admits Biden’s infrastructure bill isn’t really about infrastructure

Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-NJ) discussed President Biden’s infrastructure plan during a New Jersey Town Hall on Friday, admitting that it focuses on what “most people would not think of as infrastructure.” According to a Breitbart Report, the town hall was part of a virtual series called “Congress in Your Kitchen.”

Malinowski compared this bill with the Republican’s proposal, which defined infrastructure in a more traditional sense. “President Biden, on the other hand, proposed a bill that defines infrastructure more broadly,” Malinowski said. “And, on top of that, included some things that probably most people would not think of as infrastructure but that many of us think are really important for the country.”

While the bill has earned his stamp of approval, the New Jersey lawmaker is pushing for more policy written in the bill to center climate change. “On top of that, what I’m really pushing hard for is an investment that will help America lead the world in the transition from fossil fuels to clean energy,” Malinowski said.
