BORDER CRISIS: DeSantis Deploys Florida Officers to Texas at request of Gov. Abbott

Reprinted from Sara Carter's news page.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is giving his full support to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, whose state is overwhelmed with a growing illegal immigration surge that has been escalating since President Joe Biden took office in January.

DeSantis sent 50 Florida police officers to the state of Texas to help offset the growing need in the state. Texas Department of Public Safety officers have been stretched thin due to the thousands of people pouring across from Mexico into the Rio Grande Valley daily.

I know this because I’ve been watching the tsunami of illegal migrants entering the southern border for months now as I’ve traveled to the border.

On Monday, the number of migrants continued to increase. Tragically, 49 migrants have also lost their lives in Brook County, Texas since the beginning of the year, according to Brook County Sheriff Benny Martinez, who spoke to me on a ranch along the Texas border Monday. The soaring heat, unpredictable weather and criminal activity have led to the deaths.

He said the assistance is absolutely necessary, not only to the increase in migrants but to assist law enforcement with targeting criminals, narco traffickers, human traffickers and interdicting the narcotics.
