Over the weekend, gun violence in Chicago injured 50 people and killed 10. Among the wounded are six children under the age of 15 according to the Chicago Sun-Times Wire.
A drive-by shooter targeted a party late Saturday night. The gunman shot four teenagers and a 12-year-old at a quarter to midnight while they stood on the sidewalk.
Then, early Sunday an eight-year-old was shot by another drive-by gunman while he was riding in a car. The 28-year-old driver was also wounded.
The neighborhood of Austin saw the most violence, with 11 gunshot victims. Three of those shot subsequently died.
